Stackbone vs Lindy
Lindy is an AI employee that lives in your Slack, connects to your tools and takes requests from anyone on the team. Stackbone builds the agents and workflows behind a business process as a TypeScript repository that IT maintains through pull requests, on Stackbone Cloud or in your own infrastructure. Lindy fits the requests and recurring chores a team hands over in chat. Stackbone fits processes that IT has to version, audit and keep running.

| Stackbone | Lindy | |
|---|---|---|
| Who builds it | The person who knows the process describes it, and Stackbone builds it. Developers can write the same code directly with the CLI and their own coding agent. | Anyone on the team. You install Lindy from the Slack marketplace, connect your tools and mention Lindy in a channel or DM with the task. docs.lindy.ai |
| What you end up with | A TypeScript repository: agents and durable workflows, versioned in Git like the rest of your software. | Skills, routines, files and meeting records that belong to your Lindy workspace and that Lindy reuses on later requests. docs.lindy.ai |
| When the process changes | IT opens the repository with its coding agent, changes the step that moved and ships it through a pull request. Prompts and configuration are versioned in Studio: publish a version or roll back to an earlier one without a redeploy. | You tell Lindy the new process in conversation, or open the Skills page and edit the skill’s instructions. docs.lindy.ai |
| Where it runs | Stackbone Cloud, or your own AWS, Azure or GCP account, self-hosted, on-prem or air-gapped. The same code runs on all of them. Pick any model from any provider, and use the built-in Postgres, object storage and RAG or point Stackbone at your own. | Lindy’s hosted cloud service, with each customer’s data kept separate, encrypted in transit and at rest, and data residency requirements supported. lindy.ai |
| Integrations | 700+ connectors with 6,000+ actions and 1,500 triggers, authorized once in Studio and reused by every automation, plus any service with an OpenAPI spec. | 1,000+ tools connected by OAuth or API key, plus MCP servers. Where no integration exists, Lindy drives the browser or writes its own against the tool’s API. docs.lindy.ai |
| Approvals and audit | Irreversible steps wait in an approvals inbox. Every run is recorded step by step with the workflow and prompt version it used. Finance, Legal, Sales and Operations each read those runs in their own dashboards, and a new one is built by describing it. | Lindy prepares the work, then waits for a named approver before emails, docs, tickets or posts go out. It logs every action with what happened, when and why. lindy.ai |
| Best fit | Companies that want their teams to automate their own processes without losing control: the business builds, IT owns the code, and everyone sees the results. | Teams that work in Slack and want an AI employee to take requests, run recurring routines and hand back finished work. docs.lindy.ai |

When to choose Lindy
- Your team works in Slack and wants to hand off email, meeting prep, CRM updates and reports by mentioning Lindy in a thread.
- You want 1,000+ integrations and MCP ready on the first day, with no code and no repository for anyone to own.
- Lindy holds SOC 2 Type II and offers HIPAA with a signed BAA on Enterprise.
When to choose Stackbone
- IT has to review every change to the process. Stackbone keeps the automation as TypeScript in Git, and each change ships as a pull request.
- You need the automations to run in your own AWS, Azure or GCP account, on-prem or air-gapped.
- Approvals have to hold on every run, however it started. Lindy enforces approval in shared Slack threads and leaves personal DMs to their own confirmation behavior; Stackbone sends every irreversible step to one approvals inbox.
